You are in for a stirring, special day visiting the West bank of the Nile River at Luxor. Enjoy a relaxing breakfast aboard the Farah before joining us in exploring the ancient ruins of Thebes.
The West Bank at Luxor
Because it’s one of the most historically rich archaeological sites in the world, it would take years to truly explore every hidden corner of Luxor’s West bank. Our Egyptologist, Emile, will do his best to make sure you get as much as you possibly can from your visit today.
While many call the entire West Bank the “Valley of the Kings” it is actually much more than that. The Valley is only one part of this incredible collection of tombs, shrines, monuments, and temples. Walk on sacred ground amongst the remains of Pharoahs and Queens—chances are some of their royal power will leave an impression on you.
The multiple sites you’ll see today also include:
- Queen Hatshepsut’s mortuary temple at El-Deir El-Bahari
- Colossi of Memnon facing the Nile, two statues that guard the ancient Necropolis
Return to Cairo
We will fly back to Cairo this afternoon and check into the Mena House Oberoi hotel. After your cruise down the Nile, spend some time regaining your land legs and relaxing for a final full day of exploring Cairo.
